Your computer could be modify to operate program faster than before. The secret is to maximize your PCs settings. Forget about the idea of reinstalling or buying new hardware for your computer. Following are very easy ways to speed up XP Windows:

> Indexing Services.
Not enabling the Indexing Service will have you speed up Windows in an instant. This program is not known for some but it surprisingly takes up a lot of memory. The Indexing Service is actually a list that process and updates indexes of all the files in your hard drive. Veer away from it by checking on Start and choosing Settings. Go to Control Panel. Click on the Add/Remove Programs option. Click Add/Remove Window Components and uncheck Indexing Services. Choose Next.

> Folder Browsing.
Avoid delay in opening your PCs files. These types of processes are regularly created with a pause that can be pretty irritating. To speed Windows, access My Computer, choose Tools and select on Folder Options. Surf on on the View tab and deselect the option Automatically search for networks folders and printers. Choose Apply, OK and restart your personal computer.

> NTFS file system.
Winodws XP have to operate using NTFS system. To determine, double click My personal computer and and choose drive C by right clicking on it. Select Properties and determine, the File System Type. If it is FAT32, back up your files to set up your computer. Load an antivirus before going to the next steps. Afterwards, hit Start, choose Run and type CMD on the bar. Click OK. Type CONVERT C:/FS:NTFS and hit the Enter key. Dont be afraid if this takes sometime. After it finishes, start over your computer and take pleasure from a quicker interface.

> Prefetch Folder.
Windows XP is built with Prefetch options. Youll be aware of how speed up Windows by clearing out this folder every three months or so. Dont hesitate in removing files within this folder because they are not that critical to the processes of your PC. They are just reloaded over and over again to acquire processes. If your personal computer cant access them, it will generate new ones that are a lot lighter compared to the ancient files.

> Disk Clean-up.
